So my earbuds has a built in mic. When i plug them into the mic jack it gives me a list of options (Line in, Mic, Headphones, Front Speaker, Etc.). if i choose headphones the mic doesnt work. if i choose Mic It uses the speaker in the earbuds as a mic, not the built in mic. So i plugged it into my speaker jack, then i choose mic, same thing. so i chose mic in. same thing. Any advice? I dont have money to buy the adapter

The built in mic is intended for use with jacks that have mic+speaker connections all in one. It's a hardware thing so the only possible solution is to buy an adapter.

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Save up some money from work, birthdays etc. You can get some fairly decent headsets under 100 bucks. I myself have a RIG500HD with the Dolby 7.1 adapter on it. You definitely notice the difference, and I didn't break the bank. Get something better that works for you, I've even used Xbox Turtlebeach headsets when I started off in PC building/gaming YEARS ago. Still a better option that "phone headphones". As @NoRomanBatmansAllowed said, tough luck buddy.
