Hello!

I'm building a new system after 7 or 8 years of not keeping up with the new stuff. Here's my link  -

I have everything except the storage purchased because I have a question about m.2.

In the notes pcpartpicker mentioned that some of the sata slots share bandwidth,  what does this mean in terms of 970 evo, GPU, and future hard drives or solid state drive placement and if I decide to add another 970 evo would I be able to? Here's a copy of the notes.

  • The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.
  • icon_info_sgl.gifThe motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled.

The note means that if you plug in a drive to either of those two M.2 slots, it'll disable two SATA ports, up to four total. The motherboard manual (if you do a search online, it should take you to the page where you can find it) will tell you more information on which SATA ports will be disabled.
