Just curious if anyone is using a custom launcer like Nova, Adw, or Epic cause im considering switching to a new launcher. Im trying GEL (Google Experience Launcher) right now, but im really disliking the 4x4 grid that it makes me use on my LG G2. I might switch back to Epic because its the closest to GEL than any other launcher.

I'm using Apex Launcher and I really like it.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

Personally use Nova, best decision I've ever made. Here in Aus the Samsung ROMs come with the home screen dock completely locked so we can't change the phone/messages/browser icons. Nova lets you do a whole heap more than that though!

Do any of those launchers have that "swipe left/right for Google Now"? I thought Google Now was a gimmik at first, but im using a it a shit ton more right now which is why i went for GEL. I think only Epic Launcher has that "Google Now" functionality, but truth be told it only launches Google Now as it appears in my task manager haha.

I personally like APEX launcher. But if you can try to get your hands on it, by far Trebuchet by the people at Cyanogen Mod is my favorite launcher of all time, too bad it isn't on the play store

Does Cyanogen have that Google Now home screen on there? If it does im definitely going to consider getting Cyanogenmod. Im jsut hesitant cause i've never done custom roms before.

I'm currently using Action Launcher. The "covers" they have let me make a very simple looking homescreen with all my most used apps on.

Covers are essentially folders, but you can set a default app.

So I add twitter, Facebook and FB messenger in a folder, and set twitter as the default. Any time I click it, Twitter opens, but if do either a vertical swipe or a double tap the folder opens. Lets you store stuff, but also quick access the most used thing from it.

If you don't set a cover, you can set it so when you double tap/vert swipe it opens the apps relevant widget.

Also the Beta Open App Draw or 1-Swipe feature is nice. Lets you access the app draw from anywhere from swiping on the left side and a fave tab of apps by swiping in from the right.

I have a lot of experience using third party launchers (I've been using them since Android 2.1 Eclair) and I can wholeheartedly recommend trying some out to see what you like.

My current launchers of choice are:

-Nova for a Stock+ experience - it's similar to the stock android launcher but allows for extra customisability

-Action launcher for the most efficient launcher (the post above covers this quite well)

-Aviate for the most interesting launcher - imagine a Google Now style launcher that adapts to where you are and the time of day and that should sum it up

-Themer for.. well the best one tap theming. It's great if you like to try out lots of different home designs and don't have the time to build them all yourself.

Hope this helps.
