What monitor is better ?

Hi, I've been thinking about buying a monitor but I do not know which one to choose. It turns out that I have a PC with a Nvidia gtx 1060 6gb, i7 6700k and 16 gb of ram ddr4 and I am doubting between buying a 144 hz 1080p monitor or buying a 2k 75hz monitor. 
Which one do you recommend? pd: I have around 300$.

Toughie. Depends on which you want more. Faster refresh rate, or better resolution. The 2k monitor should be just fine since its 75Hz. But if you are more into gaming like CS:GO and other FPS games I'd go for the 144Hz

Or any of the 4k IPS free-sync displays around $300

I prefer 4k, you can always just upscale from 1080p, and you'll never have to replace the monitor.
