Fortnite keeps crashing.

kelvinhall05

Literally everything else works; I can run stress tests overnight for 8 hours and it doesn't crash, I can play games for hours on end and it doesn't crash, but as soon as I play Fortnite, not only does the game crash, but occasionally, my PC does, too. Does anyone know what's going on? Fortnite doesn't give me any error codes or anything, just says it crashes...is this a common issue or am I the only one? My specs are in my signature. Temps are not an issue, CPU is under 80C and so is GPU, even under extended full load. The text from the crash context file is included below, if it helps at all. Thanks!

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

Tried that before and IIRC it didn't fix it, but I'll try again. I'll update you when it's done downloading.

Good.

In all seriousness, I've had this issue ALLOT back when it wasnt super popular, before Vbucks and all the stupid skins and emotes. I never really learnt what fixed it or what broke it. I'm not saying this is the reason, but its diminished since I've gotten off the X58 socket.

Haha, yeah. I'm not a massive Fortnite fan either, but my friends want to play with me ;)

But one thing that might be the issue is that, when launching the game, it says that I should downgrade my GPU driver from 18.5.1 to 18.3.3. @Crunchy Dragon, this info might be useful. It could also just be that Fortnite hates X58, which would make me dislike the game even more...

Trying an older driver might work.

Your rig should be able to run Fortnite though, it's not that bad in terms of performance. And Fortnite is fairly well optimized for older hardware(looking at you, PUBG).

I wouldn't say PUBG runs that bad on my rig (45-50 FPS on medium 1080p)...

I'll try an older driver if reinstalling doesn't work.

Runs better than on my rig, I can barely do 1080p at all.
