Hi,

Im doing my first build and I thinking of using an 1080 from Asus. I saw that the 11 series is right around the corner and wondered if I should wait. My rig will be used for gaming. It will have an i7 8700k, 16 gigs of 3200 mhz ram, an Asus Rog Maximus x Hero motherboard and an NZXT x62 cooler.

probably the 1080 makes no sense right now it's just a more expensive 1070 Ti for gaming at least.

Games are not going any where if you can wait and want to ensure you have the best that's the way to go.

whats your system goal really gaming, media, editing being a bench mark beast let us know what your going to use it for and we will hook you up with your best options.

also what other things are going into this system whats the cpu ram motherboard and cooling look like building a balanced system is important.

the 11** or 20** cards are supposedly dropping in less than 3 weeks and personally I would watch the sales of the 1080 and 1080ti to see what kind of deals are going to be made from Nvidia direct and also the partners not to mention the box retailers that don't want to have large back stock on the current cards on hand after the launch
