Usb port problems

I have a old pc about 9 years old but has not been used for 9 years. Anyway none of the usb ports pick up any usb device. It will just say the device descripter error.

Anyone got a fix

Any idea what's inside the computer? So like can you post the specs?

now I want you to brace yourself. it is a really old pc. the specs are: Intel core 2 quad, 6 GB of ram, 1 TB HDD, ipibl-lb motherboard, ( it is a thing google it), Windows 10, no graphics card yet, and a Dlink wifi card (D-Link Wireless N150 PCI Adapter).

If you try and plug a phone in will it charge? Trying to test whether or not the USB ports provide power still.

You say it hasn't been used in 9 years, so the drivers are probably way out of date. Try and go into device manager and then under 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' try and update all the drivers. Might be worth a shot to update the USB devices in the same menu too.

i tryed that they just keep coming back. it just keeps giving me the device descriptor error

My guess is still that it's a driver issue. They're providing power but not recognizing any of your other hardware and it's been almost a decade since you've used it.

Is it running Windows 7?

Nope windows 10. And i think it isn't a software issuse but ima have to check
