PC running very slow

Dr Zaza
Go to solution Solved by Guest,

The OS is installed on the SSD, right? Check the SMART readings on the SSD. It's almost 7 years old, so it's quite possible that it's failing.

My PC was dusty so I opened it up, reorganized some cables, and cleaned the dust but when I plugged it in it was extremely slow. It's taking 4 minutes to log in and up to 20 minutes to launch any application. I have tried to update drivers, cleared the CMOS, tested the ram but nothing seems to fix it. I then reset the PC twice and it's still in the same condition, it's taking two minutes to register a click. Whats strange is when I'm in the bios everything is fast.

OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Motherboard: Dell 0KWVT8

CPU: i7-4790 (non k)

RAM: Hynix 2x4GB PC3-12800u DDR3- 1600MHz

GPU: GTX 1050ti

PSU: Thermaltake SMART 600w

SSD: Corsair Force 3 120GB (Boot Device)

HDD: WD Blue WD10EZEX-75M2NAO
