New monitors help

axcist

Hello,

I just bought two BenQ GL2580HM and I have them hooked up to my Zotax GTX 1050 Ti OC

Currently one cable is HDMI and other is VGA, the VGA seems very off in color compared to HDMI, if I switched to Display Port would the Display Port look the same as HDMI?

Also, when locking windows is there a way to show lock screen on both monitors?

Thanks,

Axcist

How "very off"?
Also try: NVIDIA Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> set “output dynamic range” to “full” instead of “limited”

Unfortunately Windows 10 does not support Dual Monitor lock screens, 1 monitor will have the lock screen (your MAIN) but all others will remain blank until you login. However there may be third party programs you can research to see if they work (but these would not bee supported by Microsoft, so just be careful)

Perfect this worked a charm! Thank you so much, its a little off now but barely noticeable. Do you think in the future, a display port would work better?

I found the solution for this is to do Windows Key + P and do duplicate while locking the computer and then pack to extended when unlocked

Do you know of any third party software however?

Not that I know of.

I also would recommend DP over anything else.

The only problem I have right now is my GPU has 1 HDMI, 1 DP and 1 VGA output

The two monitors only have HDMI/VGA/DVI.

Do you think a DP to HDMI cable would work just fine?

It should. When I ran a 960 I had a VGA to DVI and worked just fine.
