Editing registration information with regedit

I recently built a new PC, and i currently can’t afford a license key off of the Microsoft website. From what I can understand, i have two options, disable the notification and activation page in Regedit, or purchase one from a third party seller, which I don’t really want to do.  So i would be glad if someone would show me how to change the values in regedit. I already know the location of the values.

That isn't how Windows 10 activation works. Even if someone gave you their entire Activation registry key, it wouldn't match your hardware.

 

You still have the two choices you had originally, and the limitations in a non-activated Windows 10 copy are mere annoyances compared to activation restrictions in the past. No more restarting every 2 hours etc.

 

You can stay in trial mode for 120 days using slmgr.vbs -rearm when your 30 day period is up, which limits them further.

There's a third option, sign up to Windows Insider and run a beta version of Windows, as a reward for beta testing you get free activation forever (as long as you say in the pre release ring)
