Quick question:

I was checking a few LTT videos and saw the guys using different kinds of RAM sticks at once and they worked. Now I my self once did aomething like this (2 different sets of dual channel 2x4 ddr3 hyperX rams with different speeds) and it worked, only noticing the fastest set runing at the same speed of the lowest set).

Nevertheless, i looked for more info on this topic in different forums and found a lot of conflicting answers but one of them kinda sound like it makes sense: they need to have the same voltage specs to work (which would explain why my own personal experiment worked when i tried it).

The reason I'm asking is because i have this XPG gammix D10 1x8 Gb 2400Mhz memory but today I'll be installing a Trident Z RGB 2x8 Gb 3000MHz set to my PC. Now, should I keep my older ram stick and use it if i notice I'm lacking a bit to get 24 Gb instead of 16 Gb of RAM? My Motherboard supports up to 2400MHz ram y so the Trident Zs won't be running to it's full glory anyway....

I like octopuses
