Ryzen Ram overclocking

Go to solution Solved by Al_Fredo,

Looking at MSI's website, it doesn't look like that ram (assuming that the SKU is CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) is supported by first generation Ryzen CPU's.

Hi, ever since I upgraded to ryzen I never got my ram properly clocked to its rating. And I've been trying to get it to work but whenever I set the timings and restart it gets stuck in a boot loop.

Does it ever come out of the boot loop? Ryzen will usually boot loop to find the right memory timings, etc.

Usually that helps with memory overclocking.

What MOBO? what memory? and have you updated to the newest bios? i know on my my Asus Prime plus b350 i was able to take my DDR4 2133 from my i1300 6100 and it just worked but never past 2133, until the latest 4011 bios now it will run at 3200 with custom timings and it doesn't even support XMP.

So if you haven't update the bios a see if it fixes it.

@anonvx So can i assume if you set your ram to auto or default in the bios it boots normally? @ 2133? when you set the xmp are you then going in and changing the ram timings or just f10 reboot in to boot loop? have you tried every xmp profile from lowest to highest and was there any success?
