what graphics card is in it?

last time i asked this sort of question (about the cpu) i was told it can be quite difficult to do inside of a laptop configuration

Looks like it has a USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 3 port, so it's possible. Just need to buy an external GPU enclosure and a better GPU. I'd say the GTX 1060 is already decent though.

i couldn't tell if that is what he wanted to put in the laptop or if that was the one already inside of it

Really depends on the CPU. Also, in a dell gaming laptop, how much better does it really get? 1060 is already pretty good, and you'd bump into a thermal limitation sooner or later

The only thing that can upgrade the GPU is by using an eGPU. But you're spending practically the same for another one of those laptops.

 

Otherwise the GPU is soldered onto the laptop's mainboard, so there's no upgrading it.

Not really unless you get one of those external enclosures, but honestly given the performance drop over thunderbolt you're probably best just sticking with your 1060.
