Quick question regarding M.2 device

Go to solution Solved by Mr. PC,

Yeah there won't be a problem with running m.2 on Windows 7!

Here's a link to Intel's website with some instructions( works for mom Intel m.2s as well):

I was wondering if the M.2 device I selected is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit or Ubuntu 18.04. I greatly prefer to run Windows 7 given the choice, but a modified Ubuntu is an acceptable substitute as I refuse to run Windows 10. I'm planning on purchasing the ASUS Prime X470-Pro motherboard with the WD Black NVMe M.2 2280 250GB SSD with a Ryzen 7 2700x CPU. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really don't wanna spend my money on something that wont work.
