Hi everyone.

So im stuck with this delema ,and im not sure as to which should i get... I am a streamer and FPS shooter so i would like the best fps ,and best streaming quality.

This is my current rig ,i have a budged and this is keeping me from buying the gpu together with the 8700k and the z370 mobo from Asrock and a cooler.

Ryzen 5 1600 overclocked to 3.9ghz

2x 8 gigs g Skill Flare X memory 2400mhz

Msi b350 pc mate am4 socket.

gtx 1060 6gb Palit.

Now i want to upgrade for the reason to get better 1% lows and higher FPS since i have a 180hz monitor and i will only be playing on 1080p and i won't go higher anytime soon . and also get better streaming experience when streaming and gaming from the same rig.

Should i get this for better FPS -CPU-  https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-8700K-Desktop-Processor-Unlocked/dp/B07598VZR8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1532715633&sr=8-1&keywords=8700k+processor

Mobo - https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-Motherboard-Motherboards-Z370-EXTREME4/dp/B0763BS899/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1532715680&sr=1-1&keywords=asrock+z370+extreme4+lga+1151

i want to overclock the CPU to 5ghz, and i already have a Coolermaster hyper 212 cooler. or should i get an AIO cooler like this - https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Performance-Liquid-Cooler-CW-9060021-WW/dp/B00SV7IEJI/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1532715753&sr=1-7&keywords=corsair+aio+cooler

or

Should i get a 1080ti or a 1080 that wiill run with the R5 1600 cpu.

Please keep in mind that the following upgrade must give me better FPS and streaming experience.

Please keep in mind that the following upgrade must give me better FPS and streaming experience.

For high FPS gaming, the CPU is sure what's bottlenecking, especially when streaming while playing. CPUs don't care about resolution (sort of), but they have to process physics, game engine etc at the rate of displaying, which is equivalent to the FPS. GPUs will scale the framerate with resolution, and the 1060 is the  sweet spot for 1080p gaming. You probably won't achieve 180 FPS in most games (surely not with ultra / high graphics settings), but you'll still probably exceed 60. You can check by yourself the CPU and GPU usage while playing and streaming, and you'll see that the CPU is holding your framerate down. The CPU you've chosen in great, motherboard great too, especially for OC, cooler is meh, but fine

Thank you for feedback.

I run Pubg around 130-140 fps, but my 1% lows dips into 40 ish , and when i stream pubg, my cpu usage doesn't go over 50% and my GPU is around 80-90% usage.

I don't want to wait and thats whats my priblem ^^... and i will probably never spend more then 350$ on a cpu :) so your thoughts would be appreciated

That's probably more just PUBG being an unoptimized horribly built game.

If streaming is your focus grab an 8 core like the R7 2700.

Yes ,it kinda is... Okay so whenever i bump up my Graphics to high settings my gpu usage goes to 99% ,but then my FPS drops to around 80-100.

League is fine but thats the only games i really play :)

Okay so let's talk gaming only and forget about streaming right now. What would you do if you were in my situation?

Ok, at this point if you really only play those games, you're probably better off upgrading the GPU if you feel like doing so. Still, to me your CPU sounds like the first thing that should be upgraded in a streaming PC, but apparently not in this case

GPU upgrade, for sure. It's topped at 99%. After upgrading though, you may not get 180 FPS, because then the CPU would be much more taxed by the game

Not waste money on a whole new platform?

You're only going to gain like 20fps at most

Does the game stutter normally or only when you're streaming?

The reason i want to change platform is because Intel is better for gaming. and i might use that R5 1600 for a streaming pc.

But i do get some stuttering ,like 2% of the time and the fps drops to below 50. and this i when i land on ground with alot of things happening around me. and i want the best fps possible .

Even when i stream using the Ryzen 5 1600, i get input lag, but i guess this is because of my GPU because then my GPU goes to around 95% usage. NOT SURE might be wrong.

But i heard that CPU is the main factor for getting better FPS , im just curious . Thank you for the feedback. Would a 1080 do for medium Quality 1080p 150+ fps?

The streaming issue is probably from a lack of cores/threads. Or your setting being too high .

Either way the 9th? Gen intel parts launching in a month or 2 are going to be faster than the 8700K for gaming. And might even be soldered.

an 8700K was limited to about 120fps with a 1080ti on low settings. They really need to fix PUBG.

GPU, totally. It would also let you play more taxing games (and hopefully more optimized ones ) at high FPS, but again, you may not get 180 FPS in most other games, because high FPS gaming is more CPU bound than high resolution gaming. Overall, GPU though considering gaming only and in this specific case (with these specific games). Still, I'd highly suggest you to register with some software your frame times (or framerate), GPU usage and CPU usage while playing only and while both playing and streaming, to have a better understanding of what should be the best solution

Well then i might aswell wait then i guess, cause i do recieve bonus in november month so maybe i can just smack both the CPU and GPU upgrade.

Thank you for taking the time for posting links , ill check them out now . Funny part is whenever i stream my CPU usage never goes beyond 50% usage but my GPU goes to 90% and above.

and i streaming to 616p 60 fps , wonder why this is happening.

Just wondering: which encoding configuration are you using for streaming? Are you sure you're encoding with software (CPU) and not with the GPU?
