that was my thought too: "would all the extra cores/threads in a Ryzen cpu be a better purchase?"

Ry7 2700X, Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wifi, and added an MX500 250gb M.2 drive... still like $15ish cheaper.

case is very pretty, but also somewhere you can shave another hundred bucks off, if you go for just basic functionality. not saying you should, just that you could. up to you to decide how important the looks are to your budget.

OEM windows

If it saves more than $20 why not?  It installs just fine and you can still make a bootable usb from it.  You just need to take care to not over-activate it or know how to google solutions if you do.

What's up whit the 5400Rpm HDD? Better pick up  Barracuda 7200rpm, maybe 128cache.

Is Barracuda a better brand? I went with western Digital because I was familiar with them and their products. I have never heard about this brand. I take that the higher the RPM the faster that the drive can read and write data?

Is the MX500 better than the WD blue? I am new to picking out parts and I don't really know what to look for in a SSD. I watched the techquicky video "What SSD to buy as fast as possible" but I still don't quite understand what is important when comparing SSDs

The brand is Seagate, the model is Barracuda. Western Digital is very good too, just make sure to get 7200 rpm (10000 is poitless)

Higher the capacity, higher the read/write speeds. You can find the specs of different models on the internet.

it's faster, look up reviews for ssd speeds.

Yup and the next SSD performance notch above the MX500 is the Samsung 850/860 series if the price is right (and it likely isn't for a 1TB size).  If we were talking 500GB SSDs I find it's hard to beat the bang/buck of the 860 EVO for less than $118 (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6yKcCJ/).

the 850 evo has about the same performance while having a lower endurance rating, while the 860 evo isn't all that much faster.
