My friend wants to have a 4K 60FPS video editing computer. He has a enough money to buy hi-end parts. So I set spec like this.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

MB: ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VI Extreme

RAM: G.SKILL DDR4 32G PC4-21300 CL18 TRIDENT Z RGB (8Gx4)

GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX1080 Ti O11G GAMING D5X 11GB

SSD: Samsung 970 PRO M.2 2280 (250GB)(I choose 250GB, because he is gonna save footage at NAS)

Is it good? Or wait until 32 core Threadripper release?

If your friend earns a living with the machine then a Threadripper or I9 system might be more appropriate. Otherwise, a 2700X is a decent choice. I would suggest faster memory and much more fast storage. There needs to be enough local ssd storage for current projects, scratch, and of course system and programs.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
