So i recently got a new m.2 ssd (Kingston A1000), and my pc recognises it and all, just formatted it and it works A-OK. My question is if I installed it correctly. I installed it in a asus b350-plus and it is at an angle. I made a crude paint drawing of it, dont hate too much pls. Will this damage my m.2? For the record i didn't receive any mounting screws with my motherboard so I ordered some from Amazon.55.png.4e0e53814a59d91f7bd40a63e64aabb8.png

Did it come with two? if so, put one into the other.

It probably shouldn't be at that angle, but IDK really. Unless the storage itself is bent i'm sure it's allright

That seems weird. Even my 40$ b360 board came with one of those. Are you sure you didn't just throw it away accidentally?

Some motherboards can have 2 m.2 SSD's installed in the slot. In these cases it goes M.2 standoff, 1st m.2 drive, screw/standoff, 2nd m.2 drive, screw. However, some motherboards do not include the hardware to install both properly. (you have to purchase it seperately if installing 2 m.s ssd's in the slots) Check to see if the M.2 slot has 1 or 2 connections. If it has 2, then make sure it is installed in the lower connection.

Sorry about the delay. I went to see a movie. Anyway, those are the mounts for the standoff, not the standoff itself. You select an appropriate mount based on the length of the M.2 drive. I have attached a picture of the standoff you need along with a screw that you probably have already been using. You will need to screw the standoff into one of the mounts, install the M.2 drive, and then install the screw into the standoff.
