This probably isn’t suppose to be in this category and a stupid question but will fans spin if you don’t have a cpu installed on your motherboard. I want to test the rgb fans I got but currently don’t have a CPU.

The fans will spin for a second or two and then stop, similar to if you had a dead CPU or motherboard.

 

What you could do is grab a 9 volt battery, some wires, and you can power the fans manually with that(I do speak from experience).

My fans don’t spin for a second or two. It does nothing when I press the power button. My motherboard is a Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3. I’m really scared that my motherboard is dead.

My bad, if there's no CPU then nothing will happen.

 

Your board is most likely fine.

Ah okay thanks! I got really scared earlier. I don’t want my first build to be a complete disaster.
