I'm picking out the parts for my first build, and this is the list I've picked out: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/YcWfhy

As you will probably notice the pricing is a bit weird, because I live in Denmark and translated the prices to dollars, and only after that changed the country to Germany, because it was closer and more representative in the pricing.

Now for the parts I'll start from the top down.

CPU: I plan to use the stock cooler, but an AIO water cooler is pretty high up on my list of priorities, so I can fully utilize the overclocking potential of the processor. For the water cooler itself I'm thinking about something in the lines of the NZXT Kraken.

Mother Board: I think that I'll be going with the version without WiFi simply because I can't seem to find the one with it anywhere, and routing a LAN connection to my room wouldn't really be an issue.

Storage: I plan to transfer these two drives from my old PC. I have thought about getting an M.2 too but there is a lot of other things I want to get before that.

GPU: At the moment I only use a 1080p 60Hz monitor but a 144Hz one is the top priority so I plan to buy that before the end of this year.

Case: I don't really have a lot to say about this other than I went with white as that seems to fit into my white room as well as my personality in general

OS: I plan to use the key from my old PC to reinstall this

With everything my budget is around $2000 (that actually surprised me a bit) so if I save a bit for a good monitor and some extra things i'd say that the price of ~$1600 is nice.

If anyone has the slightest to say, please share it. Your help would be very appreciated!

Motherboard has stronger VRMs overall that should handle an Overclock better, Ram has better timings, 240MM for sexy cooling, Windforce due to cost + approximately the same performance ocne you do your own overclocks on it. PSU change as the Focus Plus Gold is a better rated PSU at that wattage and 80+ rating.

Would you care to elaborate a bit on those changes? (Which are better and which are just cheaper?)

The motherboard is more reliable and better from what I’ve heard. The ram is cheaper at the same performance. The graphics card is cheaper and should in theory run cooler with 3 fans instead of 2 and has the same performance. The case has a LOT better airflow for that level of hardware allowing it to be cooler and more efficient. The psu is more reliable and 80+ Gold. It is also fully modular with nicer looking cables and a cleaner build.
