External drive issues

So recently I was transferring my music collection over from my external hadrive and I noticed that it would say that it couldn't find the some of the songs.

 

Okso the problem was either the that the folder was bad or the drive was bad. So I decided to boot up into linux mint with a live USB and found that the smart data said it was alright. 

 

So I booted up into windows and disconnected/unpluged the drive and replugged the USB cable back into my PC and my drive. Then my music transfered correctly this time around. 

 

Both times the USB cable was securely in the drive and my PC. I'm wondering what's wrong with it. 

 

The drive external drive is A: Silicon Power 1TB Rugged Armor A15
