My new rig going soft on me? :P

So I just put up a new rig but the results are very disappointing.

Everything is on its default clock setting as of now.

CPU: i7 8700k

GPU: RX 580 Pulse 8GB

RAM: G.skill TridentZ 3200 cl14

Mobo: Asrock Taichi z370

PSU: AX860,Corsair
CPU: 240 AIO water

windows installation on an intel SSD

Windows 10 64bit

All drivers are up to date, supersambling is turned off and power settings in windows are set to performance...

Yet I have some "impotent" performance score eg.

When I try AIDA64 benches on my CPU its always a little slower than the default 8700k + (it shows my cpu running @ 4300mhz while the 8700k that beats me for a few points is displayed with the baseclock of 3.7GHz)

What gives?

I am willing to run any benchmark you want (as long as it is free to download)  and check any setting youll tell me.

Thanks.

I would say that your GPU temperature is too high...if the temperature is ok you can try to reinstall your GPU driver.

Oh yea sorry I forgot to mention that lol

When stresstesting my CPU with AIDA for like 30 minutes or so the temps where about 70C 0% throttle 100% usage  @4.3Ghz on all cores (and its summertime where I live)

The Graphics card stabilizes around 70-74c as well after 2 consecutive heaven benches though I have not stressed it for more time than that.

Try to reinstall your GPU driver and run the benchmark again after that.

Problem **solved** Thank you all for your time and suggestion.

The culprit was afterburner for some reason it was restricting the GPU running at 700Mhz and I didnt think of that since on the bench the CPU looks like its running @1300Mhz

anyway long story short I ended up OCing the graphics card a bit (GPU1450, RAM2130)  and I gain a healthy 1900ish score now
