I need desperate help...

I just got my comp back from a local comp store and they gave me this shitty mini n speed wireless USB adapter by trend net. I got a new motherboard so they just through this on but this thing sucks... I literally cant get more than 1 mb down and .75 up. What the hell do i do... I am probly gonna go take it back and ask them to put in a motherboard wireless card but i have no idea what is good and what is not. I have a gigabyte z77-ds3h. Please help... Also I would need one with a strong singal strength as I am sitting far away from my router.

If you want the best, it will be the Asus PCE-AC66. But it is expensive.
