Hi my current card a GTX 760 has just died and im thinking of buying a MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Armor 8GB to replace it but im concerned that it might bottleneck.

The MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Armor 8GB where i live is 500€ the 1060 is 340€ and my max buget is 500€.

My reasoning to get a 1070ti ( even if i only play in 1080p ) is mainly longevity but i woulb be ok with a 1060.

I really prefer having the 1070ti that would last me longer, the only reson for me to go for the 1060 is if the 1070ti would bottleneck to the point where its a problem.

I just want opinions on what should i do.

System

CPU                     I7 4700K (3.5Ghz) SKT 1150

Motherboard       Asus Sabertooth Z87

RAM                     Corsair KIT 16GB DDR3 1600MHZ

GPU                     EVGA GTX 760 SC ACX Dual Bios 2GB

Case                    Zalman Z11 Plus

Storage               Barracuda 1T

PSU                     XFX Pro750w 80+ Bronze

Display(s)           Asus VX238-0

Cooling               Corsair H80i

Operating System Windows 10 pro

I think you will be good man! The CPU is still quite good and will probably work well with the GTX 1070ti. Sure, it might bottleneck a tiny bit in some games but you will be fine I think. If it would bother you then try to set a limit for the fps, maybe at 160 fps and it should be fixed!

Have a great day!

What is up with people fearing bottleneck like it would break your computer ? You would just get a little less out of the cards full potensial, but still more than with the other card.

Also your cpu is perfectly reasonable for a 1070ti, no worries!

As far as I'm aware you'll be completely fine, you have a very capable system.
