Gamepad

Ergroilnin

So I have been using wired random third party gamepad for a few years now and while it is still decent (especially at the price it was at), the more console games I have on Steam (like Final Fantasies), the more I am starting to crave a wireless one.

Now I have always been in the playstation camp as far as consoles go and thus I am also most comfortable with the PS dualshocks (though mind you, I did not buy another console after PS2 so things may have changed I guess?) so I guess I would love to go for the PS4 dualshock, but I have read that to use it on PC, you need to get and USB adapter that is basically just as expensive as the controller itself.

Are there any other options to connect the PS4 gamepad to PC or any third party controllers that imitate the PS dualshocks as closely as possible while being wireless and steadily working with PC?

I mean, if everything else fails, I can always get xbox controller in the end, but that is like the last option I will go to.

So any tips?

The PS4 controller can be connected to a PC but almost no games support it. The Steam Controller might be an option

Is there any reason as to why it would not work with most games if I used emulator to assign the buttons once connected?

I had few games (like World of Final Fantasy) which actually did not support my current controller, but with the emulator button setup, it worked like magic.

I did look up on the Steam controller, but the way it is made is just not for me. Thanks for honorable mention of it though.

Steam absolutely supports the PS4 controller. They have since 2016.
