Motherboard and case compatibility

Hi. I am trying to build my first pc and i am having some issues with making sure that the USB ports on my motherboard are compatible with USB ports on my case. Right now i have chosen a "MSI Z370 gaming plus" as my motherboard. I wanted to pair it with a "Phanteks Eclipse P400S Glass Silent". When i go to pcpartpicker it says everything is compatible, but the case has USB 3.0 while the motherboard has USB 2.0 and USB 3.1. I think i have misunderstood something because almost every case on the website i am buying from has USB 3.0 and almost every motherboard does not have USB 3.0.

USB 3.0 is now called USB 3.1 Gen 1.

The actual USB 3.1 is called USB 3.1 Gen 2.

That motherboard only has Gen 1 USB (so that's USB 3.0)
