Hello everyone,

i want to store my project on a external device, i'm not sure if i need a NAS or a smaller server for it.

I will store mainly website projects, images, pages but also videos and clips on it.

About 1TB of storage should be enough for the start and could upgrade it later.

Depends on what you want to do with your files:

Just store it for cheap and access it with one device? And external hard drive will do you fine.

Access it with multiple devices and throw in a RAID array for good measure? A NAS server will be the better option.

If you decide to go with a NAS, you can either build one yourself or buy a prebuilt unit from synology or the likes online.

75% of what I say is sarcastic

So is the rest probably

The cheapest option would be to buy a 1TB external USB drive and just plug it in.

or go for a nice small NAS if you want. they're not hard to set up.
