Im thinking about putting together a new system since my current laptop is like 6.5 years old. I dont want to spend a whole lot of money (<$1000), so i was think about getting the 1050ti. Im fine with high 1080p gaming, is this the best effiency card to get?

This is mu current parts list:

if you can maybe get a 1060. it would be your best bet for smooth 1080p gaming and very reliable. let me see if i can get you a quick build together. Do you have any theme in mind? space restrictions? any parts you already have?

is the 1060 3gb fine, or is it absolutely better to get the 6gb version?

The 1060 3GB should only be considered where it's absolutely not feasible to get the 6GB 1060 but the RX 580 4GB is not available. Honestly, I'd get an RX 580 4gb for FreeSync and the fact that it performs like a 1060 6gb so long as the 2GB less VRAM isn't a limitation which it won't be at 1080p

Ryzen 1200 or i3 8100 is enough for 1050ti. I dont know but check if even G5400 can suffice.

Adding on to my previous post I was able to put together a $1000 build for you. It's ATX but I really think that unless you're building this as an HTPC or something similar you really shouldn't be building ITX because of how much expandability you give up
