First Build Help

Hi everyone, so I am going to build my first pc, so I just wanted to get some feedback and suggestions on what I am thinking of building before I go out shopping. So the main use is to just game the latest titles like Rise of the Tomb Raider and older games such as Fallout 4, and secondary use for just typical computer usage like Netflix and etc. My budget is about $1,000 USD without including tax, Windows 10 and a 1440p monitor. Furthermore, on pcpartpicker it shows everything is compatible. Thanks!

CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor $178.99

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 DS3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $100.17

Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory $149.99

Storage: Seagate - BarraCuda 1TB 3.5'' 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $43.64

Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB Mini Video Card $449.99

Case: Cooler Master - N200 MicroATX Mini Tower Case $49.99

Power Supply: EVGA - BR 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply $54.99

So total ~$1,027.76 before tax.

no need for a Z370 board, get a cheaper B360 board and use the money for a 240gb ssd instead. also, get a different unit since that one hasn't been reviewed yet. a corsair CX or coolermaster masterwatt will be safe choices.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Looks good, but if you can get a 240gb SSD to put windows on. This way windows is way more responsive, boots a few times faster and also the windows background tasks dont affect the games loading times if you are loading games from hdd.

If you don't plan on upgrading to an overclockable chip like an 8700k in the future, go with an H series or B series board (B will have more features.) Also, any SSD is faster than a consumer hard drive, so while not going super cheap, any inexpensive 120GB SSD will do.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

So as suggested I swapped the Z370 motherboard with a Gigabyte B360M Motherboard, which saves me about $30 bucks to use to get a Crucial MX500 250GB SSD for windows and programs/games that I use often and just use the 1TB hard drive for everything else. Thanks all! I'm going to order everything later today or tomorrow and hopefully have everything running up by the end of the week.

if you're asking for help, make your own thread instead of hijacking others.
