Help with 7.1 surround headset

Go to solution Solved by Daikbwioa682,

turns out i have been using a VERY outdated version of the Logitech G software. Did the update, then also updated the firmware on every peripheral i have.

Hi guys. First of all hello, I'm new here so if I do something wrong please correct me. I have a question regarding a headset I just bought, the Logitech g633 7.1 surround headset. I installed Logitech drivers and everything is working correctly... sound and microphone. In the Logitech program I turned on Dolby digital surround 7.1 but I still feel like something is missing. I saw that by right clicking the audio icon in Windows 10 (the speaker icon in the down/right corner of the screen) it gives me an option to choose between some software for surround. I would like to know if the Logitech driver handles the surround or if I need to activate anything else in the system. Maybe someone could tell me the exact way to install the headset because I don't want to be using them wrongly after the money spent on them. Don't get me wrong they sound perfectly but after I saw all those different options I got confused what should I select or do. I have audio card embedded in the motherboard but I can't manage sound preferences of the headset from the realtek program since the headphones are usb so it won't recognize them as a playback device. If i put them with the 3.5 mm jack i could manage the settings from the program but then i wont have the incredible RGB effect haha! Thank you all !

The logitech driver should handle it if you enable it there. The only thing you might have to do is also set windows to 7.1 in the speaker configuration, if the driver doesn't automatically do it.

All options should be in the Logitech software.  Also go into your windows "audio/playback" devices & just to ensure your on board audio isn't affecting your headset you could disable all other audio devices apart from the Logitech headset that way you can ensure its working as it should..

You also need to remember the 7.1 your hearing is not "true" surround sound its simulated with software so don't expect to be blown away... there is only 1 speaker in each ear cup, having owned a "7.1 Gaming headset" myself I much rather use 2 channel stereo audio for gaming I can hear everything around me just fine (CS:GO,PUBG ETC), if your not impressed with the audio quality I would suggest in the future getting a good set of headphones and purchase a separate mic.

Good luck

Thank you guys! I will try to check the config in Windows for the headset. Thank you for explaining the acutal way the surround of the headset works!
