Mobo or gpu?

Hey everyone, just a follow up post from a few days ago. Basically my pc was freezing and hard locking during games, furmark and sometimes even the boot screen. After a lot of individual stress tests on each component I decided to try and change the slot the gpu was in, so I put it in the x8 slot and have no problems since. Ran all tests and no freezing whatsoever. Would I be right to assume the mobo is faulty?

yeah, cpu migh also be the case, but if it works, it works

but maybe just receding it did the trick.
