Hi all!

I'm flying back to the UK from Malaga (Spain) and I bought some computer parts (Used) and I was wondering if I can fly them back? The only problem is that I only fly out with hand luggage only, no bag underneath the plane

Can anyone shed any light on this?

The type of parts i'm taking over is;

GPU's

CPU's

Motherboards

RAM

here in greece at least you need to report it to customs and you have to pay a fee or you could say that you're just taking them now and you will bring them back at a later date

Yes of course, but they might have more information on the subject. Usually they work closely with airport security together.

I think security isn't even the problem, but customs might be the problem when landing.

You've got a good point. I think if its below the value of £450 (Which it is) you don't have to declare it? I could be wrong

I don't know the rules of GB.

Here in Germany it depends on the items, where you bought them from and what the value of those items are.

Since they are used parts, it might be fine.

Security isn't the problem. They aren't considered as a security risk to the aircraft, aircraft personnel or the passengers.

And since you stay within the EU, customs is also not the problem (there is still a free movement of people and goods throughout the EU).

The only concern would be damaging the components. The CPUs and RAM modules would be fine. However, the GPUs and motherboards are quite fragile. I would sugest placing them in anti static bags and surrouding them with some soft fabric like clothes to protect them against shocks.

The parts are faulty anyway, got someone local who buys faulty goods for a top price!
