I currently use an Intel 520 series 120 GB SSD in my computer, and I am running out of space. I am interested in buying another 520 Series 120 GB for a RAID 0 setup, and I have a few questions.

If I have a storage hard drive that I can use to store files while copying, how easy would it be to transfer from the first SSD, to the HDD, then back to the RAID 0 set up? Or, what would be the best program to use? I know I would have to install Windows 8 on the RAID before transferring back over, but I am worried about making the backup and the RAID array bootable. Any tips?

you should be able to transfer your media over fine, however windows probably wont run unless you reinstall it! It wont boot because it wont have the neccacary drivers! Kinda like when you try to run windows off a new motherboard! :)
Wait... if I switch my MOBO I need to re-install windows ?

sometimes, no, you may still be able to boot, but the driver suite from your motherboard website + a fresh windows install will provide the most optimal setup. some Mobo's wont boot an OS on a foreign install though
