Corsair Dominator Dilemma

in a TRAGIC water-cooling accident, i lost 1 of my 4 Corsair Dominator Platinum 16Gb Sticks with a speed of 3000mHz in cas 15-17-17-35. i found an ebay listing one 16Gb stick of 3333mHz in cas 16-18-18-36. i know they run at the same voltage, so would i be able to underclock the ram to match the speed and line it up in the proper cas configuration or is it not possible to adjust cas timings (not super familiar with overclocking yet)

Sure, you can do that if you really wanted, I have 3 different sets of RAM in my desktop, but you will have to clock with the slowest speed for stability unless you really wanna touch memory overclocking. Hmmm, it also looks like that Ebay listing is selling one stick from a 4 stick kit.

right 3 of them are the same but the new one has lower higher cas, would i have to set the other 3 to 16-18-18-36 or could i set the new one to 15-17-17-35 at this lower speed?

Yeah, so the Ebay one would have to be clocked to 3000MHz and dropped down to 15-17-17-35. You should not have issues with that.

Corsair has a limited lifetime warranty on its memory kits. Before pulling the trigger on that, I would contact corsair support and ask whether this would be covered.

Probably not since this would probably come under their physical damage exclusion listed here, but if I were you I would still ask - you bought a premium product and it's possible they might be willing to get some good CS rep from it.

For what it's worth, they were super helpful when I contacted them about one of my sticks failing.
