Hello guys!

So I have had problems with my PC booting up successfully for about 2-3 months now and I figured out why. I couldn't believe it myself, but for some reason, my Steelseries Rival600 is (sometimes!) keeping my PC from booting up successfully.

I switched my mouse after my Logitech G502 started having issues, but I've never had any problems with the boot process before I bought my Rival600.

But why? I checked the BIOS and there is nothing strange I could find. The only way for me to make sure my PC boots every time I turn it on, is to unplug the mouse during the boot process.

Does anybody know what's going on here? Is there a way to make sure my PC boots without having to unplug my mouse every time?

Hope someone can help me.

Is it plugged in an usb 3.0 perhaps? That can be a problem sometimes.

It is plugged into a USB 3.0 connector.

Go the BIOS and check if you have USB on your first booting option, if you have it, just change it and put the drive where you have your OS, save and restart, and the problem should be solved.

My only booting option is my SSD. I already wanted to turn USB support during POST off, but then there would be no way for me to access the BIOS again since all my USB devices are disabled.

I would try using it in a 2.0 port. One of my friends has a laptop that bsods when he has a mouse plugged in the 3.0port

ThinkPad masterrace

Me thinkpads:

X220, R30, T24, TransNote

Still does it, I tried multiple USB ports. Is there a way to disable my mouse during Boot/Post. I know you can disable all USB devices in BIOS, but then I wouldn't be able to get into BIOS again using USB devices, right?

have you tried a different usb port? it could be that the port has an issue. Also try the mouse in a different pc and see if it stops that one from booting at all.

I have tried different Ports but it still does it. Unfortunately, I don't have another PC available right now.
