XMP is indeed an Intel feature, but the last couple of years more and more the AMD motherboard makers are simply moving to XMP as it's an industry standard and much easier to keep up in the BIOS than other methods.

 

If you have an ASUS board, you might see something like DOCP (Direct Over Clock Profile) and EOCP (Extended Over Clock Profiles) is GigaBYtes version of the Asus DOCP.

Ryzen is known to have memory issues. Possible you just got unlucky

I tried DOCP but it booted with 2133mhz instead of anything close to my memory's rated speeds, I could only get up to 2400mhz:(
