Help with 144hz

Hello, i have a dell inspiron 5000 with i5-7300hq and gtx 1050 and I was thinking , if I could plug à 144hz monitor on it ? I know i Will not play a lot of game in 144hz but, i want To know if my only port is hdmi can i have 144hz with it ?

Theoretically HDMI 1.4 has the bandwidth to support 144Hz but it appears that finding monitors that support it is the issue. You're more likely to get 120Hz but again, it depends on the monitor.

Realistically the GTX 1050Ti is going to struggle to get over 100fps in most recent titles anyway so unless you're playing something a couple of years old it's not something that's really going to matter anyway.
