I was watching the video on where Linus is explaining how they work and what their servers are used for at 8:50 he starts to talk about real time data replication and backup and he demos the software they are using and I just wondered if anyone knows what the software is as I have been looking for something that does real time sync and keeps a copy of deleted files so they can be recovered.

Unless you link to video, you might not get many accurate replies. There are other software which can do something more basic. Like Resilio Sync which essentially replicates newest (date/size comparison) files between two or more devices. You can select to save deleted files for certain period too.

FreeFileSync is capable of all that.

As long as anyone is oppressed, no one will be safe and free.

One has to be proactive, not reactive, to ensure the safety of one's data so backup your data! And RAID is NOT a backup!
