My good laptop broke and I have been using a decent backup laptop and wondered if I could play one of my favorite old games of all time, Oblivion. So I launch this up and it does the auto system check on hardware and it says it doesn´t recognize my computer hardware and sets it to medium. I just shrug and click play and manage to get past the title screen and in the midst of the loading bar the game exits and crashes and exits. The weird thing is that my ancient Toshiba laptop that I got back in 2013 could run this perfectly fine but I sold that after I wiped it, and my good laptop before it was dropped could not run oblivion. I´m thinking its some kind of hardware recognition problem but I have no idea how to get around this as I´m not a super wise computer guru. If anybody recognizes this issue and knows how to get around it can ya help a fella out? Thanks!

My PC returns the same error but runs the same just fine,

Could you post the specs of the machines, their OSes and what version of Oblivion it is?

Yours faithfully

Yeah the current one is a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series. Intel i5 core 8th gen, 1Tb hard drive, 8 GB memory.

Idk about the Toshiba, and the better laptop was a Dell Inspiron, intel i7 7700HQ, 8 GB RAM, 128 SSD, GTX1050, 1000 GB HDD.

The Version of Oblivion was GOTY edition, I got it off Steam if thats of any relevance.
