Not all of them are, although most of the higher end cooler such as the Noctua NH-D15 and bequiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 use 120mm fans.

@Crunchy Dragon are there any fans that aren’t on the expensive side but will still cool pretty good, or should i just go with a high end fan ?

I have Corsair AF120 fans installed in my case as airflow fans, they do a pretty good job. The stock fans will also do a good job.

so you don’t think i’ll need a better CPU fan and the stock one will do just fine?

The stock one will do fine, I wouldn't worry about replacing it unless you're having problems with cooling.

NH-D15 use 140mm fans, while DRP4 has a 135mm fan in the middle and a 120mm fan

If the fan's meant to blow through heatsinks or air filters, better go for those focused on static pressure. The unit to measure pressure is mm H2O

I think he is talking about whole cpu cooler, not fan itself mounted on that cooler.

So yes - almost all "fans" are universal - just read detailed information and you'll find list of compatibility sockets.

Is replacing worth? Yes, always. Not only because stock is bad, but because it's mostly noisy. You don't need Dark Rock Pro or something like that if you don't want to overclock. Any big or even medium cooler with big fan should be much better and much more quiet than stock.

BTW. i7-8700k have no stock cooler, you must buy something.
