Question regarding ram slots.

So i have an 8gb memory card 2400 mhz

Now i am going to buy 2 extra 8gb memory cards that are 2666 and totally different.

Am i able to put the extra 2 together and the 2400 alone. will it work? or will it affect something.

it should all work together, and will operate at the slowest timings of the sticks.

So say the single stick you have right now is at 15-16-16-38 2400mhz and the new sticks you get are 15-16-16-36 2666mhz, they will operate at the slower speeds, meaning the speeds of the first stick.

If the two sticks are 2666MHz CL-14 and your current stick is 2400MHz CL-16 for example, then they will all run at 2400MHz CL-16 to ensure stability.

That's why im asking!! why isn't it the other way around.???? like if there's an order to them ill just put the 2666 together [first] and the 2400 second.
