Samsung S9+ Screen protector

Hey all,

I recently got the new s9+ and with the curved edges, I thought that I should get a screen protector. I have never used one on an older phone before, and looking on Amazon noticed there are an obscene amount of companies and types. What is a reputable brand for a screen protector and is there key things to look for and/or avoid?

I've had some experience with various ones on my S8+.

1)  Stay away from the hard plastic ones.  They seem nice and solid but within a month the adhesive along the edges will begin to wear off as it attracts dust, dirt, and lint.  Eventually they will get to the point where you lightly drop or put your phone onto a table and the things will just pop off like a cheap piece on junk.

Examples:

2) If you do get one get the soft flexible film ones.  They usually come with adhesive applied on the whole protector and stay on forever not to mention the air bubbles are far easier to rub out and they are much cheaper.

Examples:

https://www.amazon.com/Protector-LK-Coverage-Bubble-Free-Replacement/dp/B07CCYKHRW/ref=sr_1_38?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1530105017&sr=1-38&keywords=screen+protector+s8%2B

3)  I used them for a bit but didn't like them much.  I found regardless they tended to smear the screen up after a little use.  Minor annoyance but you could notice the discoloration and smears if say you were reading the net or an ebook.  I also felt that it made the feel of the screen not as natural.  It had more friction and my fingers didn't slide as easily on it.  For what its worth I have a casemate case for mine and thats all i use.  I have dropped the living hell out of my s8+ and never once has the screen gotten damaged.

Thanks for the input. I would assume not much has changed with the screen material between the S8+ to the S9+. Did you find any issues scratching the screen at all? I'm not used to having the issue because I used to have cases with ridged edges to the phone screen is slightly lifted when face down on something.

Nope not at all.

I do the same thing with my S8+ and yeah the material will be exactly the same.  Most if not all S8 and S9 cases will have raised edges on the top and bottom to help protect the infinity display since it bleeds off to the sides.

I have the S8+ version of this which came with a kickstand
