Laptop usb board problem

rukspuks

So I have an old laptop, and it has two USB 2.0 inputs via a USB board attached to a ribbon cable. Here is how it looks:

This board is on the verge of death. Only one port is working and that too sometimes. The ribbon cable is attached to the motherboard. Now, a seller on ebay is asking $50 for it which is ridiculous, and I have not found any other person selling the same model. However, I did find a similar board but from a different model laptop released by the same company in the same year. Could it work? Are these ribbon cables interchangeable? Any info would be helpful.

What is the model number? The connectors on the motherboards are fairly generic and other models should work.

Short question since this daughter board is only a extension. Did you have confirmed that the cable or port/pcb is damaged? The signal processing is done on the mobo.

The cable is fine IMO as one port works most of the times while the other is dead.

Thanks but I have looked a lot. There are no sellers except the one in Australia.

If you're willing to spend the money, go ahead.

Im not as I said in the OP. Thats why I was asking an alternate option and whether the other board I stated would work.
