Asus RGB issue

Hey guys,

So I plugged a 3 pin D-RGB strip into a 4 pin RGB extension cable (which went into my motherboard 12v rgb header) as I thought it might be compatible with just using the first 3 pins and leaving one unused. It fitted perfectly fine.

I didn't work. No lighting from RGB strip. So, now I am going to get a 4 pin strip and try again.

I wouldn't have damaged anything by making this mistake would I? Anyone clever can help!

probably didn't damage anything. I have a faulty RGB strip in one of my new graphics card water blocks that causes an electric arc and kills the whole RGB header when plugged in and everything still works fine as soon as I unplug it.
