Noise

For my pc headset I use the turtle beach recon 50p. It worked well up until a week ago where it deafens the people in my party by making a loud noise, while it makes the noise I've tried disconnecting the mic and it continues, I try turning off the mic with the switch built on to the headset and it still happens. To get it working I use a two way splitter for the audio and mic, would that be the cause for it or would it be something else
