Plex on UnRAID with VM

The CPU in my UnRAID box has 6 cores. 2 of which are dedicated to a VM. When running Plex I noticed in htop that all 6 cores would fire up for transcode  job, but in the vm the cores did not show this usage. My question is, will UnRAID borrow time on the VM cores if they aren't being used currently for non VM tasks?

Yep, the vms processes work like any other process.

 

You don't give a core to a vm, it works like any other process and shares time with other programs.

That is fantastic. So if I give 5 of 6 cores to the VM I won't notice reduced performance in Plex?

nope, it only uses the amount of cpu it needs.
