Windows 10 Graphics Driver boot time issue.

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Might just be one of the AMD applications you have installed trying to run on startup.

If this is the case, it can be resolved by going to task manager -> Startup and disabling the software you don't need.

And Windows + R, type in msconfig, go to the services tab, tick the "Hide all Microsoft services" and select which ones you don't want to immediately run on startup.

Let me know how you go :)

P.S: Don't experience it. Nvidia GTX 1050Ti

Okay so I have been having this issue for a really long time, I have an R9 280 and my boot time gets hammered because of AMD drivers, i thought it was normal before, but now after i upgraded to SSD's and such, i don't think so.

While booting, the dotted circle freezes after a couple of spins, then i get a black screen and then my monitor turns off, then it turns on again with black screen still and then i get to the welcome screen, sometimes this goes faster and sometimes i get longer than usual black screens, its not that long, maybe 10 seconds on the extreme side, but considering i have a Samsung EVO 860 this shouldn't happen.

when i uninstalled AMD drivers and used Microsoft Basic Driver the boot time was ALOT faster, and i also noticed that my screen doesnt turn off, or even see a single black screen, the dotted circle fades smoothly and i get to the welcome screen instantly after that.

so what i'm asking is, do you guys also experience this while booting? either Nvidia or AMD, i really would like to know more about this, I don't know if this is an AMD thing or it's normal. (state your graphics card also)

interesting :D after disabling all the non-microsoft services it booted much faster, i still get a black screen but its a very short one, ill figure out which one is causing this issue, thanks alot man, thought it's driver related not software related.

when booting does the dotted circle freeze and cut to black screen and then show you the welcome screen or does it fade smoothly into a black background?

It just fades and shows me the welcome screen mate.

I hope it all resolves for you, at least it boots a bit faster.

Maybe there are some Q&As on the AMD site naming this specific problem?

Thanks for the info man :) I figured out that it's either "AMD External Events Utility" or "AMD AdaptiveSleepService", both disabled is booting faster.

i'm gonna upgrade to an Nvidia graphics card later as I already have an 8700k, so i'm not gonna bother fixing this further than this :D but i'm glad that Nvidia doesn't have this issue.
