Hi guys! :D

So I was looking into getting a microphone for streaming, and I don't know too much about microphones and audio in general. I was going to get the at2020 to replace my blue yeti which has recently become very anoying and is just degrading.

My budget is around 200 dollars for everything and I am a bit worried about getting cheaper parts instead of getting them for a lot more, (I can't explain just let me show you)

Microphone - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006H92QK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Shock Mount - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C86FA0E/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Audio Interface - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EK1OTZC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Boom Arm (Comes with pop filter) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GRMF5ZE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=AL7LHK6Q9LVTS&psc=1

A couple questions about these, one is that does getting cheaper versions of, for example the at8458, cheap shock mount and cheap interface cause any problems or is it just that name brands cost a bit more?

Any compatibility issues?

Any suggestions are welcome for any of the parts, as long as it stays under 200. Thank you guys so much! :D

I don’t know much about microphones but I’m pretty sure I saw in comparisons that the Blue Yeti was better overall. Is your current mic dying of old age or what?

I think so, its just so anoying. The sound I think is degrading, which a lot of my friends have pointed out. The mute button takes several pushes for it to actually work, the gain knob does nothing and the windows sound level keeps setting itself to 100 multiple times in a day.

Check the 1-star reviews on Amazon to see what might break first.

I'm probably going to get the 3 year warranty on it, as its only 4 bucks lol. But I still wanna know about the parts and shit.

The shock mount won't fit your mic. It's 43-46mm and the at2020 diameter is 52mm. And no you shouldn't have any quality problems with any of the products. However, the audio interface is very cheap and not very good audio quality. If you can spring an extra $25 you can find a focusrite Scarlett solo used on eBay for around $50. I just got one today and it's perfectly working and in good condition so you should have no problem finding one. If not, the one you chose should be fine for the time being at least. And yes, the at2020 should be a bit better quality than the yeti, with better upgradeability considering it is xlr and not USB.
