Hello guys, I recently decided to upgrade my PC but I cant choose my GPU. I,m quite familiar with the nvidia graphics cards but not so much with AMD, so I want to choose the best possible card due to performance and price. Due to budgets limits I think the GTX 650 is ok because it is not so expensive and will give me some proper gaming expirience, but i dont know which is the AMD alternative and even is this whole choice is good for me because 70 % of the time I use my PC for gaming so please give advices.

What's your budget? $150? If you can stretch the budget more, I'd recommend you get this, much better than the 650.

If you regard my facts as wrong, feel free to rectify it.

Budget? GTX650 isn't the best you can get, AMD would be a better choice in the low end segment, look for HD7850 2GB or R9 270.

I'd get a GTX 760 or a GTX 650Ti due to AMD's currently inflation.

this isn't true for the lower end cards first off whats your resolution if you can only do $140 get a 7790 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125454 $140 before a 20 dollar rebate . The 7790 will slap a gtx 650 around its on average 50% faster has 2gb of ram AND uses less power. the next step up would be an R9 270 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161449 $180. The comparable Nvidia card is the gtx 660 the 270 is cheaper about 5% faster and its about 30% faster then the 7790 and an excellent choice for some one looking to do 1080p gaming on a budget.

EDIT: if you want to get a 7790 do it soon its being replaced with the more expensive R7 260x

EDIT 2: The 260x is available for $140 it was $160 at launch its marginally faster then the 7790 its the same chip clocked slightly faster and with faster memory more importantly it  also comes with AMD's silver game bundle were you get to pick two free games from the silver tier and while most of them aren't' exactly the newest games there are some good choices like dues ex: human revolution, far cry 3: blood dragon and the yet to be released Thief. Mail in rebates are pretty hit and miss i consider the games a better deal if there are ones on that list you want.
