MicroStutters in gaming.

Ryzen 7 1700 Oc 3.85Ghz

Gigabyte gtx 1080 g1

16Gb trident z rgb ram 3000Mhz running at 2666Mhz

Asus crosshair vi hero (OPEN BOX/REFURB FROM NEWEGG)

So I am having issues with micro stutter (game running at 60+ fps but freezing for split second) when something happens in game (die, something loads in or another event happens). Im at my wits end with it. Ive swapped out new HDDs and SSDs completely wiped and reinstalled EVERY game and app on my pc at least twice INCLUDING windows 10. Its driving me nuts. The only thing i can think that the problem is is the cpu or mobo. Pls halp me.

Try disabling the High Precision Event Timer and dynamic tickrate in Windows by using an elevated command prompt. Type in the following commands:

bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock

bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes

Also, make sure that your GPU drivers are configured correctly. Have Vsync set to Fast or use GSync if your monitor has it. Not sure since you didnt specify.

Oh i forgot to mention to actually disable HPET in the BIOS as well. Not sure where its hidden in your specific BIOS but its usually an option and apparently even if Windows is told not to use HPET, disabling it still gets rid of some peoples stuttering issues.

You shouldnt need to flash the BIOS. Just disable HPET in the existing BIOS and see if that helps.

Also make sure that G Sync is actually working and that Windows recognizes that your monitor has a refresh rate higher than 60Hz.

Sometimes it will lock the refresh rate to 60 but with Vsync off youll see a high number of FPS in an FPS counter, but your monitor will only be displaying 60 and wont be synced at all either. Plenty of people with high refresh rate monitors have this issue and dont even realize it, like the HDMI color space issue.

Also Windows 1803 introduced microstuttering for alot of users. Rolled back to 1709 myself

If you quote me or are replying to me please @ me. Thanks
